What counts as a generation?

Every time you click "Generate" in any tool, that uses one generation. It doesn't matter how long or short the output is — each click is one generation.

Do unused generations roll over?

Daily limits reset every 24 hours. Unused generations don't carry forward — but in practice most users don't come close to their daily limit.

Can I switch plans any time?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade whenever you like. If you upgrade mid-month, you're billed the difference. If you downgrade, the change takes effect on your next billing date.

Do I need a credit card to start free?

No. The free plan is genuinely free — no card required, no trial that auto-converts. Upgrade when you're ready.

What happens when I hit my daily limit?

You'll see a friendly message letting you know your generations have reset the next day. You can also upgrade at any time to get more immediately.

Is there a discount for annual billing?

openfield is an AI content tool. You own what you create with it. We're not liable if AI-generated content doesn't perform as expected — always review before publishing. Disputes go to arbitration, not court. You can cancel any time.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or completing a purchase, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

openfield is an AI-powered marketing platform that generates social media content including captions, hashtags, content calendars, bios, and post ideas. The Service uses artificial intelligence to create content based on information you provide about your brand.

openfield is provided as is. We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will be accurate, appropriate, effective, original, or suitable for your specific use case. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before publishing or using it.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By using openfield, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms.

4. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, notify us of any unauthorized use, and take responsibility for all activity under your account.

5. Subscription Plans and Billing

openfield offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. We will provide at least 30 days notice of any price changes.

6. Cancellation and Refund Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. All subscription fees are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at contact@openfield.works within 30 days. California residents retain their rights under California consumer protection law.

7. AI-Generated Content — Important Disclaimer

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.

openfield uses artificial intelligence to generate marketing content. By using the Service, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • All AI-generated content is provided for informational and inspirational purposes only
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, editing, and approving all content before publishing
  • openfield makes no warranty that generated content will achieve any marketing result or outcome
  • openfield is not responsible for any harm arising from your use or publication of AI-generated content
  • You are responsible for ensuring content you publish does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights
  • You assume full legal and commercial responsibility for any content you publish using the Service

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use openfield to generate illegal, harmful, harassing, discriminatory or defamatory content; violate any laws or infringe intellectual property rights. You agree not to hack or disrupt openfield or resell access without written permission.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of brand information you submit. Content generated using your brand information is yours to use. The openfield platform, design, and code is owned by openfield and protected by intellectual property law.

10. DMCA and Copyright

If you believe content generated by the Service infringes upon your copyright, contact us at contact@openfield.works. The user is responsible for ensuring content you publish does not infringe third-party rights.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OPENFIELD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR $100.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED AS IS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. OPENFIELD DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless openfield from any claims arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or content you publish using the Service.

14. Dispute Resolution and Binding Arbitration

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY — THIS AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

Before any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at contact@openfield.works and attempt informal resolution for 30 days. If unresolved, disputes shall be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the AAA under its Consumer Arbitration Rules in Los Angeles County, California.

Class Action Waiver: You and openfield agree that claims may only be brought individually — not as part of a class action.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes not subject to arbitration shall be resolved in Los Angeles County, California. California residents retain their rights under the CCPA.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Plain English summary

We collect your email, brand profile info, and usage data. We never sell your data. Payments go through Stripe — we never see your card number. Your AI prompts are processed by Anthropic to generate content. You can delete your account any time.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: Your email address and a securely hashed password.

Brand profile information: Brand name, logos, and/or images; industry, audience description, tone preferences, and goals — used exclusively to personalize your AI-generated content.

Usage data: Which tools you use and how often, to improve the platform.

Payment information: Processed by Stripe. We never store your card number or CVV. We receive only payment confirmation and subscription status.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Information

Data is stored using Supabase with TLS/HTTPS encryption and access controls. We retain your data while your account is active and delete it within 30 days of account deletion, except where legally required.

4. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. Your brand profile is used exclusively to generate content for your account.

  • Supabase — database and authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Anthropic — AI content generation. Your prompts and brand profile are sent to Anthropic's API. Review their policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
  • Netlify — website hosting
  • Upstash — rate limiting

6. AI Content Generation

When you use openfield's AI tools, your prompts and brand profile are transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate content. By using the tools, you consent to this transmission. We do not use your content to train AI models.

7. Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Update your profile at any time
  • Deletion: Request account deletion at contact@openfield.works
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • California (CCPA): You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sales. We do not sell your data.

8. Cookies

We use browser localStorage to maintain your login session only. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

openfield is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Security

We implement reasonable security measures including HTTPS encryption and access controls. No method is 100% secure — you use the Service at your own risk.

11. Changes

We will notify you of significant policy changes by updating this page. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
